Our History

Founded in 1976 by Luigi Aluffo and still family-owned, Mecal was established with the ambition of providing the wire harness industry with the highest-quality equipment for electrical terminal crimping. Over the years, the company has achieved and maintained a leading position in its sector, as demonstrated by steady revenue growth, with more than 85% of production destined for export markets.

Our equipment serves a wide range of industries, from automotive and civil installations to telecommunications and Information Technology. Located in the heart of Italy’s industrial triangle, equidistant from Milan, Turin and Genoa, Mecal operates from its headquarters in Fubine Monferrato within a company-owned facility of approximately 7,000 m² of covered space. The company employs around 150 skilled and motivated professionals who represent the true driving force behind its success.

In addition to the Italian headquarters, Mecal operates production facilities in Brazil, the United States and Mexico. The company benefits from a modern and efficient structure supported by an excellent manufacturing organization. Our Mission

In the early 1970s, while serving as Head of Maintenance for crimping equipment at a major wire harness manufacturer within the FIAT Group, the future President became convinced that the market could be improved. To prove it, he founded Mecal with a clear and singular objective: to design and manufacture the best equipment for crimping and quality control. From the outset, advanced technology, service excellence and innovation were defined as the company’s distinguishing features—essential elements to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Many years have passed since then, yet Mecal—while continuously advancing the technical and technological evolution of its products—remains focused on the same original objective, without being distracted by diversification beyond its core mission. Today, as in the beginning, with the same determination that inspired its founder, Mecal is committed to designing crimping equipment engineered with intelligence, built with precision and supported by reliable service.

Our Manufacturing Philosophy

Convinced that true quality can only be achieved through full control of every stage of the manufacturing process, Mecal has invested in the most advanced technologies available. These range from electrical discharge machining (EDM) systems and three-dimensional inspection equipment to sophisticated CNC machining centers, dedicated finishing equipment for cutting and crimping tools, and in-house surface treatment systems. This approach ensures not only the highest quality standards for every internally manufactured component, but also rapid responsiveness to market demands—an essential advantage in an increasingly competitive environment where reliance on external suppliers can become a constraint.

Every production phase, from raw material to finished product, is continuously monitored through the company’s information management system. This guarantees full component traceability and enables customers to plan their production with precision.

In addition to its tooling department, Mecal operates a dedicated assembly line for mini-applicators as well as an assembly line for presses and related accessories. The achievement of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, issued by TÜV, confirms the strength of the company’s organizational framework and its ongoing commitment to excellence.
